Community Guidelines

Effective as of August 27, 2024

Welcome to The Home Service Community! This is a space where you can connect with a community of home service pros who get what you're building—share advice, ask questions, get answers.

When we say “home service” we mean professionals who deliver residential or commercial services on other people’s property, and, therefore, have a very unique set of business needs and challenges. This includes, but is definitely not limited to, residential cleaning, contracting, trades, pool service, window cleaning, lawn care and landscaping, pressure washing, tree care, snow removal, pest control, garage door installation, waste management, alarm installation, property management, etc.

In order to keep this a supportive, helpful space, please follow the guidelines below in all your Community interactions.

  1. Be respectful. Remember we all have different experiences and backgrounds. We want this to be a welcoming, positive, and collaborative space where members can share different opinions and views, but it’s important to remain supportive, professional, and constructive, not critical or negative.
  2. Respect the Jobber Community Team. As moderators the Jobber Community Team is here to encourage conversation, advocate for all members, and provide a safe experience. Follow all instructions provided by our team of moderators. Moderators may edit, move, or delete posts at their discretion for the benefit of the Community and its members.
  3. Keep content relevant and valuable. Post information related to the topic of the forum. Our community is a place to discuss all things home service and business.
    1. Avoid posting about topics unrelated to home service businesses, such as soliciting, religion, and politics.
    2. Do not post spam, solicitations, or advertising. Spam includes creating multiple posts about the same issue in different topics, or posting the same response on multiple posts, as well as sending unsolicited messages to multiple members. You may post information about your services if the information is in the spirit of helping and sharing information with the Community. You may also post about your services in threads that are created by the Jobber Community Team to showcase and feature Community goods and/or services.
  4. Keep it clean and professional. Offensive, abusive, harassing, defamatory, threatening, obscene, or otherwise derogatory language or content is not permitted and will be removed. This includes negative comments or slurs based on age, ethnicity, race, nationality, sexual orientation, gender, or religion.
  5. Protect yours and others’ privacy. What you post can be seen by other members and any visitors to the community, so don’t share anything about yourself or your organization that you wouldn’t want to see on your website. Don’t share any confidential or personal identifying information such as passwords, personal addresses, and phone numbers, or credit card information.
  6. Keep it legal. Don’t post anything that violates any law or appears to support or promote any illegal activities. Please respect intellectual property rights, copyrights, privacy rights, and proprietary rights. Only post content you know is safe. Screenshots and links may not lead to explicit material, or malicious content including malware, trojan horses, viruses, or scams.
  7. Report bad behavior. If you see bad behavior, report it to us, you don't need to get involved. If you come across content that is abusive, offensive, inappropriate or spammy, please report this to our moderators.
  8. Represent yourself accurately. We encourage you to use your own name when posting, and you have the option of uploading a photo or an avatar icon. You are not allowed to impersonate another person or business. Do not use the Jobber logo as an avatar or “Jobber” as part of your user name. Jobber employees will use the logo and “from Jobber” to identify themselves, and we want to avoid any confusion.

We reserve the right to manage and moderate the community as we see fit for the benefit of the community, and we reserve the right to amend the guidelines without prior notice.

If you break any of these guidelines, intentionally or by accident, moderators will either edit or remove your post. Repeat offenders may be temporarily or permanently banned.

The opinions expressed in the Community do not necessarily represent Jobber’s point of view.

In addition to our guidelines, here are a few tips to help you get the most out of the community.

  1. Before posting, take a moment to search existing posts to check if your topic or question is already being discussed somewhere in the Community. Multiple threads on the same issue create clutter, and there may already be helpful content you can use or add to.
  2. Post clear, honest and valuable information.
  3. Not sure what to post? Share the tools and strategies you’re using to run your business. Share best practices for hiring, contracts, bidding, etc. Share your favorite podcasts or business books you’re reading. Share your latest success or any challenges you’re having. Ask any questions you have about your business.
  4. Remember this is user-generated content. You’ll find plenty of great information here, but your situation may be different from someone else sharing their experience or advice. Information shared can even be wrong, so apply good judgment, just like you would to any other information you find online.
  5. If you have a question or feedback about Jobber software, or a specific question about your Jobber account, reach the Success team directly: email support@getjobber.com, call 1-888-721-1115, or chat via the chat icon in your Jobber account.

Share your feedback. We want this to be THE BEST community it can be, and YOU are the ones building it with us, so let us know what you think or how we can improve your experience by emailing community@getjobber.com.
